So if you're anything like me, you'll hear a song, like it, and it'll be on repeat for the next week.. When I say it'll be on repeat I mean truely just one listen after another for a good hour. After that week or so passes I'll only occasionally listen to the song again. It's true that its hard to pin point your favorite song cause it's always changing, you're always finding new music. I however, and a lot of people probably, have a definate, all-time favorite, so I decided to do a post about it. You know that song that you can listen to forever and have it not get old; that one that always makes you feel good. If you recognized the title of this post then you probably know what song im talking. My all-time favorite song is ' Moon River.' 'Moon River' is a 1961 song written by Johnny Mercer and henry Mancini for the equally amazing movie, Breakfast At Tiffany's. That's where I first fell in love with it. The song won an Oscar that year and became one the most popular songs of the decade. There are about a hundred versions of the song, having been covered by everyone from Frank Sinatra to Barbara Streisand to R.E.M. Seriously, people love to cover this song! For me though, the best version is the original, Audrey Hepburn's. She may not be the best singer but her voice fits the song, and the simplicity of it makes it so much better. Henry Mancini's orchestra versus, minus the lyrics, is amazing too.
