Here's a list of songs that are in my current playlist-
1. Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division
Joy Divison is a must have on any of my playlists, and this song is definately one of the best.
2. Us- Regina Spektor
A song from the earlier mentioned (500) Days of Summer soundtrack. I really love the control Regina has over her voice, and the string quartet is a nice addition to her regular piano.
3. You're So Vain- Carly Simon
I love Carly Simon! For those of you who don't know who she is, Carly was a singer-songwriter popular in the 70's. 'Your So Vain' was one of her biggest hits, and the story behind makes it even more intriguing. The lyrics of the song go," you're so vain, you probably think this song is about you." Carly had dated alot of big Hollywood stars and people who got to wondering who it was she was singing about. Carly has never told who the song was about but people say it's between Mick Jagger and Warren Beatty. Anyways it's a great sing-along song.
4. Ready for the Floor- Lissy Truille
This song is originally Hot Chip's, but I think Lissy does it so much better. 'Ready for the Floor' was featured in the movie, Jennifer's Body.
5. I Need a Life- Born Ruffians
Not much to be said here. A fun song by a pretty good band from Ontario.
6. Sweet Desposition- The Temper Trap
Another song from the (500) Days of Summer soundtrack. I had never heard of The Temper Trap before the soundtrack, but this song got me interested in them.
7. Somebody's Baby- Phantom Planet
So in an earlier post I wrote about my number one favorite song, well here is number two.
8. Bad Kids- Black Lips
Here's another song from the (500) Days of Summer soundtrack, told you it was good!
9. Hysteric- Yeah Yeah Yeahs
This song is off their last album, which came out in March.
10. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea- Neutral Milk Hotel
This is another old favorite of mine.
11. Who Invited the Roman Soldiers- Everytime I Die
This isn't so much a sing-along song, but still a really good one to blast. I'd have to say my favorite from their newest album, New Junk Aesthetic
12. Do the Panic- Phantom Planet
Another Phantom Planet song that makes me smile every time I hear it.
13.Summertime Clothes- Animal Collective
A good song off an amazing album, see previous post.
14. Hero- Regina Spektor
Last song off the (500) Days of Summer soundtrack, I swear. This is my current favorite off this list, she does a great job of making her emotion come through the song.
